Ithaca council establishes annual City Manager evaluation process to occur before budget deliberations

Councilmember Rob Endter moved — and Councilmember Brooke Vernon seconded — that the council make the City Manager’s annual evaluation a standard practice, to be conducted before budget deliberations and reflected in the public record consistent with the manager’s employment contract. The motion notes the last evaluation recorded in the minutes was in 2021. The motion directs the City Clerk, in conjunction with Mayor Pro-Tem Clark Hubbard, to distribute evaluation materials to councilmembers as soon as possible and to conduct the evaluation at the second meeting in May.
