Council approved a budget amendment of $107,094.50 to cover engineering services provided by ROWE for the Center Street and Union Street projects. Manager Jamey Conn presented the amendment and Clark Hubbard moved to approve; James Andrew seconded and the motion carried.
Council awarded the community center cleaning contract to Heather’s Cleaning Service at $200 per month after Clerk Cathy Cameron presented two bids. James Andrew moved and Brooke Vernon seconded the award, which the council approved.
For the Lobby Safety Remodel project, Freed Construction submitted the lower bid at $63,943. Council approved awarding the contract to Freed Construction in an amount up to $65,000 within the FY26/27 budget after discussion of prior work Freed completed on City Hall.
Council also agreed to include a two-block section of Seaver Street as an optional add-on to the Union Street reconstruction project with infrastructure upgrades. Manager Conn and DPW Superintendent Brandon Smith described the reconstruction option; Clark Hubbard moved to include Seaver Street for $233,480, Brandon Ester seconded, and the motion carried contingent on staying within budget.
