Meeting roundup: trustees schedule multiple items for Jan. 13, correct ethics code reference and initiate SEQR for community garden

At the Dec. 9 work session, trustees handled a range of administrative and policy items and directed staff on next steps for several upcoming actions.
Ethics-code correction: Legal staff identified an incorrect cross‑reference in the newly adopted ethics code (a reference in section 21‑4‑c‑1 that points to a non‑existent section). Counsel asked staff to draft a narrow correction and schedule a public hearing in late January.
AIM funding resolution: Trustees reviewed a draft resolution urging the governor and the state legislature to continue the additional $50 million in unrestricted municipal aid and to develop a long‑term plan to keep aid in pace with inflation; the resolution will be on the regular meeting agenda for final approval.
Motel license renewals: Clerk reported Vincent's Motel has completed required background and fire inspections and will be on the regular meeting agenda for renewal; Mamaroneck Motel failed its fire inspection and staff will re‑inspect prior to Dec. 23 (board may grant a one‑month extension if needed).
Police training: The board was asked to authorize Sergeant Valentine to attend the SHOT Show training conference in Las Vegas; the airfare, hotel and registration total $1,699.68 (above the $1,500 administrative threshold), and trustees will be asked to authorize the expense at the Jan. meeting.
WJWW capital project: Trustees were notified of a Westchester Joint Water Works capital project for the Kenilworth pump station with a village share roughly estimated at $55,800 (approximately 27% based on water usage); trustees will accept the project and determine funding at the regular meeting.
Designated persons list and disclosures: Counsel explained that under the ethics code the village must notify a broader set of 'designated persons' (all board and commission volunteers, consultants and employees) and collect annual disclosures; staff will distribute notices Jan. 15 and collect disclosures by Feb. 15, with the compiled list presented to trustees on Jan. 13.
The board entered executive session at the end of the work session to receive updates from counsel on pending litigation and to discuss proposed real property matters; no public action followed the executive session during the work session meeting.
Trustees scheduled many administrative matters for the Jan. 13 regular meeting and asked staff to prepare the required documents and cost estimates prior to that date.
