South Plainfield introduces $150,000 senior center kitchen upgrade and Verizon license agreement

The Borough of South Plainfield introduced several capital and regulatory ordinances and scheduled their public hearings for Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Ordinance 2373 authorizes multiple capital improvements, including a $150,000 upgrade to the senior-center kitchen and $25,000 for police equipment and computers. Ordinance 2374 approves an amended master license agreement with New York SMSA Limited Partnership doing business as Verizon Wireless.
Council moved and seconded the introductions and recorded roll-call confirmations to place the ordinances on the Oct. 20 public-hearing docket. The clerk announced public hearings for Ordinances 2372 through 2374 will be held on that date at 7 p.m.
Separately, staff reported operational updates: Oak Tree Avenue milling and resurfacing is expected the week of Oct. 20–23; municipal-roof deliveries will begin immediately; and a resolution related to Tyler Place repairs is expected at the next meeting. The council also agreed to consolidate November meetings into a single session on Nov. 10 because of Election Day and the League of Municipalities schedule.
