The South Brunswick Board of Education on Monday approved a lengthy consent agenda that authorized multiple contracts, technology purchases and district fiscal actions.
The motion, which passed by roll call, covered financial approvals and bills lists; withdrawal of funds from the district maintenance reserve for summer projects; the award of bids and RFPs for facilities work; a lease resolution and TD Bank equipment financing tied to Apple device purchases for staff; purchases of Chromebooks for students; time-and-material contracts and renewals for transportation (including extended-school-year and athletic trip contracts); petty cash and annual-report approvals; and extensions of professional services for students with specialized needs. The board approved personnel appointments and the disposal of outdated instructional materials in a consolidated table format rather than individual motions.
Board members who voted affirmatively included Laura Hernandez, Alicia Khan, Raja Krishna, Mike Mitchell, Devin Patel, Smita Raj and Rajesh Sone; the clerk reported the motion carried. The board president noted that members received backup materials before the meeting and had ample opportunity to review documents and ask questions in advance.
The clerk described the consent package as the "end-of-year" agenda with many routine but necessary items to keep district operations running through the summer. The list of contracts and procurements is included in the board’s public backup materials.
The board did not discuss each item individually during the meeting; members were given the chance to question items and were reminded that more detailed documentation is available online and in the backup packet. The approved measures take effect as described in the board materials; specific contract start dates and vendor names are recorded in the district backup files.
The board adjourned after public comment and other business; its next scheduled meeting is July 23, 2026, at 7 p.m.
