Jonesville renews five-year MDOT trunkline maintenance agreement

The Jonesville City Council approved Resolution 2024-14 to renew the City’s five-year trunkline maintenance agreement with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
The motion, made by Tim Bowman and supported by George Humphries Jr., authorizes the contract to run from Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2029. Under the agreement MDOT will compensate the City for maintenance activities on Chicago Street/US-12 and Evans Street/Olds Street/M-99; the council record states the scope of work is unchanged from previous contracts. The roll call vote recorded Ayes from Tim Bowman, Chris Grider, George Humphries Jr., Delesha Padula, Andy Penrose and Mayor Gerry Arno; no Nays were recorded and Brenda Guyse was absent.
Council members said no substantive changes to the scope were included in the renewal. The resolution passed and will take effect on the contract start date.
