The Great Falls Town Council approved a slate of administrative items during its July 16 meeting.
Council approved the second reading of Ordinance 2024-04 to lease property with an option to purchase to Morcon; the motion passed unanimously. The council also authorized sale of surplus police vehicles (including a 2015 Ford Crown Victoria with a $2,500 reserve and a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe with an $8,000 reserve) and sale of Public Works equipment and vehicles on GovDeals.com.
The council awarded a PARD grant for pickleball courts to Match Point Tennis for $33,600. Council also approved acceptance of a Lexipol proposal for $4,460.25, to be paid from ARPA funds, and noted ARPA-funded vehicle equipment for the police has been installed.
A motion to hire a part-time town clerk failed (Dutton and Gonzalez voted yes; Eagle, Worthy and McManus voted no). Several items that were moved — including an advertisement to hire a new recreation director — received no second and did not advance.
Votes taken at the meeting were recorded in roll-call form where provided; no bond issuances or budget amendments were adopted that night.
