The Hardeeville City Council voted on Feb. 5 to table first reading of the East Argent townhomes and cottages master plan (ordinance 2026‑02‑05D) and to take the item up again at the Feb. 19 meeting.
City Manager Guber apologized to the applicant and surrounding residents for insufficient outreach and said staff would notify neighbors and bring additional materials back to council. Council agreed to the postponement to allow further public engagement; the motion to table carried on a supermajority vote recorded in the meeting as five yes votes.
Next steps: staff will formally notify surrounding property owners and present the item at the Feb. 19 meeting.
