Athletic director reports roster counts; board approves ticket price increase and hears softball field bid timeline

He introduced a part‑time athletic trainer who has been helping run emergency action‑plan drills, CPR and first‑aid coverage during practice and events.
Two coaching hires were announced: a new varsity baseball coach ("Coach Won") and a new varsity girls basketball coach ("Ben Web"). The board was told three C‑team head coach vacancies remain and will be posted.
On ticket prices, the administration proposed raising prices to match regional norms: varsity football $8 per ticket, other varsity events $7, and C‑team events $6. The board approved the change to help generate revenue for athletics.
Separately, the superintendent said requests for bids for turf maintenance and softball‑field work remain open with bids due Sept. 2; contractors reported September availability for work and a two‑week installation window once started. The district also expects shipment and installation of lights and poles around late August to early September.
Board and coaches discussed barriers for staff (driver licenses and training time) and possible scheduling solutions during breaks to ensure transportation coverage. The superintendent and athletic director agreed to coordinate driver training and staffing plans.
