City Manager Daniel Moore presented the resolution as a new partnership opportunity under Chief Snow's leadership, saying the agreement is intended to give Hartsville officers experience working with federal agencies. "We are excited about the partnerships we developed under Chief Snow and allowing our officers to have some experience working with different federal agencies," Moore said.
Council moved and approved Resolution 042501 on a voice vote with no public opposition recorded in the meeting.
The MOU authorizes participation in a joint task force; the council did not discuss operational details such as resource commitments, information-sharing protocols or oversight specifics during the public meeting. Chief Snow was present for recognition earlier in the agenda but did not provide further operational remarks in the record.
The resolution now allows the Hartsville Police Department to pursue the federal partnership; any formal operational steps, deployments or resource agreements would be subject to subsequent administrative approvals.
