Hartsville council adopts fiscal 2025–26 balanced budget; approves related appropriations

Council also approved ordinance 4494, a final‑reading amendment to the 2024–25 fiscal year budget to true up current‑year accounts. During discussion of operating budgets and service priorities, council members thanked staff and noted the budget document totals run to many pages and reflected extensive preparation.
Separately, council adopted resolution 062501 renewing the annual collaborative agreement with the Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority (PDRTA) and increased local support for transit from $15,000 to $30,000 for the coming year. Supporters noted the transit service carries residents to jobs, medical appointments and shopping and is a vital component of local mobility.
