Staff say Burton Park buckthorn-removal grant submitted; outcome expected within a month

Administrator / Special Counsel Dan Madsen told the Park Committee that staff submitted a grant application to remove buckthorn from Burton Park and that they expected to hear within about a month.
Madsen said the grant, if awarded, would fund a two-year process to completely remove buckthorn from Burton Park. He added staff "felt somewhat optimistic" about the application, but the outcome remained pending.
Committee members received the update for informational purposes and did not take formal action at the meeting.
