The presenter also described the proposed 2025–26 operating and capital budgets as an introduction only and said personnel matters had been handled internally. He directed personnel questions to Miss DJ and invited council members and staff to contact him for accounting questions and one-on-one briefings.
Under the process explained to the council, the proposed budgets will be available for public inspection during normal city business hours for 22 days before the hearing. The council clerk will publish a notice of the public hearing in the local paper next Thursday; printed and electronic copies will be available from staff, who confirmed they can print documents on request.
Councilmember Eddie made the motion to introduce the 2024–25 budget amendments and the 2025–26 operating and capital budgets and to call the public hearings for May 27, 2025; the motion received a second and the hearings were scheduled.
