Jackson Streets Committee approves purchase of new Christmas decorations

Councilmember Michael Bates called the Town of Jackson Streets Committee to order at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2025, and the committee approved the evening’s agenda on a motion by Councilmember Michael Bates and a second from Councilmember K. Todd Etheredge.
The committee then turned to selecting new holiday decorations. Committee members discussed potential themes and styles, vendor options and supply timelines. After the discussion the committee voted unanimously to purchase 12 ST24-style "Merry Christmas" banners from Downtown Decorations and 12 five-foot Presidential Snowflakes (style P-699) from Main Street Designs, Inc. The committee also approved the purchase of lighting and/or garland for four fixtures along the sidewalk at Malson Street Park, provided the expense remains within the allocated budget.
Councilmember Rosalyn Greene was recorded as present for the discussion and vote; no visitors attended the meeting. Clerk/Treasurer EmmaLee Salvo is listed as the minutes submitter; Mayor Gurney C. Wiggins Jr. and other councilmembers are recorded on the approval/signature lines. The motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 5:58 p.m. The minutes note that no future Streets Committee meeting was scheduled at the time of adjournment.
