The Gonzales City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Ascension Parish to provide the city access to a parish bulldozer for one‑time storm debris removal and to allow the parish use of the city's laydown yard as needed.
Administration told the council the bulldozer would be used to clear storm debris behind the dog park and near the city's former maintenance barn; staff explained that if debris volumes exceeded in‑house capacity, the city would bring a contractor in to haul and dispose of shredded limbs. During the discussion staff noted a small textual correction to the location name (the transcript records both "New River" and "Franis/France" for the area behind the former city barn) and asked that the corrected name be reflected in the agreement.
A councilmember moved approval with the correction, the motion was seconded, and the motion passed on recorded voice/roll call votes.
