Planning Commission keeps officers, approves minutes, and schedules hearing on park-strip ordinance

At its Feb. 10 meeting the Planning Commission approved the agenda and minutes, retained the 2026 officers by unanimous voice votes, scheduled a public hearing on a Park Entrance Adjacent Lots ordinance, asked staff to draft a data-center zoning update, and forwarded the 2025 Planning & Zoning Annual Report to Council.
The Planning Commission convened Feb. 10, 2026, approved its agenda and the Dec. 9, 2025 minutes and retained the existing slate of officers for 2026 by unanimous voice votes (all 5 members present voting in favor). Chairperson Ervin called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and the session adjourned at 8:04 p.m.
During routine business, Commissioner Grey moved to approve the agenda; Secretary Tafreshi seconded and the motion carried, 5-0-0. Grey later moved, with Benzinger seconding, to retain Chairperson Ervin, Vice‑Chair Simon, Secretary Tafreshi and ZBA Representative Grey as officers for 2026; that motion also carried, 5-0-0. The commission approved the Dec. 9, 2025 minutes by the same voice vote tally.
On substantive items, the commission scheduled a public hearing for the draft Park Entrance Adjacent Lots Ordinance and directed staff to prepare a draft zoning update to address data centers for review at the April meeting. The commission also reviewed the draft 2025 Planning & Zoning Annual Report — including new elements on housing activity — and submitted the report to the Village Council with requested additions about single‑family housing planning on Village‑owned lots in Lake Isabella North.
Village Manager Wolff reported the Village Council is preparing options for a public‑safety funding ballot proposal targeted for the November election and plans community feedback sessions in May through July. Wolff also noted that four council seats will be on this year’s ballot and that Councilmember Peavey has stated he does not intend to seek re‑election.
With no further business, the commission adjourned at 8:04 p.m.
