The Mayor and Board of Commissioners granted two zoning variances at the April 11 meeting.
On old business the board considered and, by unanimous vote on a motion by Commissioner Valadez seconded by Commissioner Bentley, granted a variance for the property at 241 West Brow Road on second and final reading.
In new business resident Robert Clark asked for a variance at 312 Laurel Lane to allow removal of an existing deck and construction of an addition; Chief Schermerhorn reported that a review found no interference with emergency fire or police access and that affected neighbors had signaled approval. On motion by Commissioner Bentley, seconded by Commissioner Valadez, the board approved the variance on first reading by unanimous vote.
Minutes record the board’s action but do not include the ordinance language or conditions of the variances; the record states neighbor approval for the Laurel Lane request and a staff review finding no public-safety conflicts.
