The Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the Town of Lookout Mountain on June 13 adopted a resolution requiring employee participation in the town’s group Short Term Disability Insurance program.
Brooke Pippenger presented the financial report through May 2023 and reviewed suggested changes to the personnel policy manual to require employee participation in the Short Term Disability plan, explaining the program “covers payment of pay after eight days of covered disability.” After discussion, Commissioner Bentley moved and Commissioner Leavengood seconded adoption of the changes; the board approved the resolution by unanimous vote.
The action accompanied approval of the monthly Financial Report, which the board also adopted unanimously. The minutes indicate a copy of the financial report and the resolution are attached as exhibits to the meeting record.
The meeting adjourned with no additional direction recorded on implementation; the board is scheduled to reconvene July 11, 2023.
