Lake Odessa Area Arts Commission approves payables, elects officers and forwards preliminary 2026–27 budget

At its Jan. 12 meeting the Lake Odessa Area Arts Commission approved a slate of accounts payable and finalized leadership appointments while forwarding a draft 2026–2027 budget to the Village Clerk/Treasurer.
The commission reviewed its revenue and expense report and voted to approve the following accounts payable items: Big L Lumber — $47.76 (building materials for beach mural); Karen Banks — $70.00 ("Where the Shows Are!" display ad); $10.00 MACC grant application fee; $33.00 window posters for business Holiday Decorating Contest; $99.00 one-month subscription to SurveyMonkey for the Holiday Decorating Contest; and $325.41 to the Village of Lake Odessa for postage (covering 1/1/25–12/26/25). The motion to approve payables carried unanimously.
On leadership, the commission approved motions to appoint Meg Hermes as chair (motion by Banks, support by Mesack), Susan Mesack as vice chair (motion by Hermes, support by Banks) and Karen Banks as secretary/treasurer (motion by Hermes, support by Mesack). All officer appointments carried on unanimous votes.
Commissioners also prepared a preliminary draft of the 2026–2027 fiscal-year budget and agreed to forward that draft to the Village Clerk/Treasurer to be finalized.
Elizabeth Stoneman left the meeting at 9:05 p.m.; the commission adjourned at 9:14 p.m.
