Consent agenda: Mrs. O’Mara-Franklin (board member) moved to accept the continuity plan, monthly bills and minutes; Mr. Cappon (board member) seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
2025–2026 First Budget Amendment: Mrs. Brodbeck-Krenz (board member) moved to accept the First Budget Amendment for the General Fund and the Food Service Fund, as recommended by Finance Director Mr. Brown and Superintendent Duits; Mrs. Behrenwald (board secretary) seconded. The board approved the amendment unanimously.
Trane energy performance evaluation: Mrs. Brodbeck-Krenz moved to approve proceeding with an energy performance evaluation with Trane; Mrs. O’Mara-Franklin seconded. The motion passed unanimously; the board discussed potential cost savings, procurement approaches and the possibility of using local contractors.
Agenda items scheduled for the March 9 meeting: The board received presentations and placed the following for action at the March 9 meeting — a Food Service request for a high school kitchen renovation (presented by Superintendent Duits and Food Service Director Mrs. Brewer) and a request to purchase sound systems for the high school and middle school performance gyms (presented by Superintendent Duits). The superintendent and finance director confirmed funding availability for the kitchen renovation; the audio purchase will be funded from the General Fund and is not related to prior lightning damage.
Closed session motions: Mrs. Behrenwald moved and Mrs. Brodbeck-Krenz seconded a motion to enter closed session at 8:15 p.m. to discuss purchase or lease of real property (8(d)); the motion passed unanimously. Later, Mrs. O’Mara-Franklin moved and Mrs. Brodbeck-Krenz seconded to return to open session at 8:38 p.m.; that motion also passed unanimously.
The minutes record that additional details and formal actions on the kitchen renovation and gym audio requests will be taken at the March 9 meeting.
