Commission signs off on SLIB applications, subdivision approval pending plat, and administrative items

On Sept. 2 the Big Horn County Commission approved several grant and planning actions. Commissioner Bruce Jolley moved to approve a letter and resolution supporting North Big Horn Hospital’s SLIB (State Loan and Investment Board) application to replace carpeting and expand patient-service areas; the motion was seconded and carried. The commission also approved a draft resolution supporting a SLIB emergency grant for the Red Gulch Bridge and authorized signature when the resolution and documents are complete.
Paul Thur recommended approval of simple subdivision 25-010 upon receipt of the official plat; Commissioner Jolley moved to approve the plat and the resolution for signature when they are complete; motion seconded and carried. Commissioner Dave Neves moved to approve the Aug. 19, 2025 minutes, to accept a Wyoming 250 grant award as presented, and to approve a support letter for Kate Decker (Big Horn County School District #3) for a Wyoming 250 application; those motions were seconded and carried.
Deputy County Clerk Marquerite VanDyke presented an accounts payable listing and noted payroll was in process due to the holiday and would be presented at the next meeting. The minutes include a detailed vendor/payment list for clerk review and records. The commission also met informally with Thomas Miller regarding a proposed transfer of a State WIC supervisory position to the Big Horn/Park County office; Clerk Lori Smallwood will follow up with the state program coordinator about transfer logistics.
