BCC and Comprehensive Plan committee report trail, easement and public-input priorities to selectmen

Bremen — During the June 4 selectmen meeting, Ann Nesslage, identified as representing the BCC, updated the board on several town-conservation and maintenance matters, and Cheryl Ferrara provided an update on the Comprehensive Plan Committee’s outreach and process proposals.
Nesslage said mowing in certain mapped areas had not been addressed, noted easements exist for Weston Spring and the Hay Property, and said the committee expects additional bog-bridging work on the Hilton-O'Connor trail. She announced the "Save Our Tree" discussion is scheduled for July 15 and reported positive responses to a septic brochure distributed with the annual Town Report.
Ferrara said the Comprehensive Plan Committee plans to increase public input through a survey, events, canvassing and making materials available at community gatherings. She told the board she met with Emily Rabbe regarding LCRPC conducting the transportation portion of the updated plan and said the committee intends to compile an inventory of current conditions rather than immediately seeking to solve problems. The committee meets the last Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Center; the public is invited.
