At its June 17 meeting, the Middlefield Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency heard a presentation on proposed drainage improvements for the Lyman Apple Nine field. The presenter described installing drainage with approximately eight-inch spacing, using excavated material for regrading, reseeding and pothole repairs, and routing water through a carrier line to a dewatering vault before discharge into the meadow. The presenter said the overall grade of the site would remain unchanged and that a formal permit application will be prepared and submitted at a future meeting.
During the Enforcement Officer's report, staff noted an issue on Baileyville Road had been referred to Zoning Enforcement Officer Zoe Chatfield, and that a site visit was conducted at Ducktail Farm in connection with removal of invasive species. Commissioners also discussed a proposal to dredge a new drainage line. No public comment was recorded on these items.
The agency did not take final action on the drainage proposal at this meeting; staff or the applicant will return with a formal permit application and additional details for Commission review.
