Town and Country approves municipal judge appointments, endorses county waste-reduction grant and OKs five waste-hauler licenses

Mayor Charles H. Rehm and the Board of Aldermen met on Jan. 12 and unanimously approved the appointment of Andrea Niehoff as Municipal Judge and Doug Sidel as Provisional Judge after a motion from Alderman Kinsella and a second from Alderman Gerber.
The board also moved, seconded and approved Resolution R01-2026, endorsing St. Louis County’s grant program for waste reduction and authorizing the city to apply for an associated community event grant. Alderman Harder moved the resolution and Alderman Hughes seconded; a voice vote carried.
Separately, the Board approved waste-hauler licenses for American Eagle Waste, Gateway Disposal, Republic Services, Waste Management and Art Hauling; Alderman Hughes moved the licenses and Alderman Friedman seconded, and the motion passed by voice vote.
In other business, City Administrator Robert Shelton briefed the Board on ongoing facilities projects, including final design decisions for the Municipal Center and preliminary Public Works Facility designs. Parks & Recreation Director Anne Nixon said insurance will cover the Longview Farm Park bridge repairs except for a $5,000 deductible the city must pay.
The Board adjourned at 7:30 PM.
