Board ratifies Doctrine of Necessity resolution, approves personnel actions and MOA
Summary

The Waterford Township Board of Education ratified a Resolution invoking the Doctrine of Necessity during its March 20 meeting, a procedural step recorded by motion of Mr. Leach and second by Mr. Galante.
Following that vote, the board approved a package of personnel items including support-staff appointments, resignations, leaves of absence, substitute authorizations, position creations/abolitions and several staff transfers. The board acknowledged the resignation of certified staff member Megan Scotti, effective May 17, 2024.
Trustees approved a Memorandum of Agreement between the Waterford Township Board of Education and the Waterford Township Principals and Supervisors Association covering 2024–2027. The minutes record that votes on personnel and business items carried by roll call but show abstentions by Barbara Libak-Fanz, Thomas Leach and Matthew DeNafo on items 1–12 in the personnel/business blocks.
The minutes list specific support-staff appointments, including paraprofessionals and non-instructional aides, substitutes with daily rates, and transfers among school locations. Several administrative items (regulations for cooperation with investigations) were acknowledged as received. The approvals were recorded as routine roll-call motions in the minutes.
