Shrewsbury board approves payroll, equipment-lease and ethics ordinances; OKs finance-commission terms and MSD 'Clearwater' project

Liquor license and finance commissioners: The board approved a liquor license for St. Michael’s Oktoberfest; the motion was made by Alderman John Odenwald and seconded by Alderperson Beth Parker. Finance Director Henrietta Brown reported a plan to stagger Finance Commission terms so one commissioner’s term expires each year: Grace Kincaid (one-year initial term), Olgun Sahin (two years) and Steve Moro (three years); motion to approve the terms was made by Alderman Presley Barker and seconded by Alderman Ben Stark and the motions passed unanimously.
MSD 'Clearwater' project: Public Works Superintendent Tony Wagner said entering the Weis Design Group proposal for the MSD Clearwater Project would be 100% reimbursable and would fund work on a frequently flooded section of the park next to City Hall. Alderman Presley Barker moved to proceed; Alderman Ben Stark seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
S&P rating: Finance Director Henrietta Brown gave a brief update that the city's S&P rating improved; the packet contains the rating details.
