The Sheldon R‑VIII Board of Education received several operational updates at its Dec. 10 meeting. Superintendent Mr. Irwin reported progress on the district’s bus barn and other facility maintenance, and informed the board of an opportunity to enter a co‑op with Bronaugh for high‑school baseball and softball for the coming year.
Mr. Irwin also updated members about a bus accident; the minutes note the superintendent provided information but do not include further detail about timing, injuries or causes in open session. Mr. Irwin additionally gave a legislative and athletic update and reminded the board that filing is open for incumbent members who wish to run again.
Teachers Mrs. Brzuchowski, Mrs. Canfield and Ms. Pacter shared classroom learning highlights during Teacher’s Time, and CTA presented the board with Christmas goodie boxes. Principal Mr. Post reviewed enrollment and attendance data and important upcoming dates, and Ms. Young provided an update on the Care to Learn student‑support program.
