Atlantic Beach council approves hiring Adrian Jones as town manager, effective June 2

Interim Town Manager Linda Cheatham told council she had been authorized to negotiate a contract and announced, "Mr. Adrian Jones has agreed to become the Town Manager of Atlantic Beach effective June the 2nd." Council members voiced their support: Councilwoman Carla Taylor moved to approve the hire and Councilman Edward Campbell seconded the motion.
Mayor Pro Tem John David said the appointment "will be a momentous good happening for the town" and expressed hope for a positive working relationship between the new manager, government and residents.
The motion passed on a roll call vote (Campbell: yay; Taylor: yay; David: yes). The town clerk recorded the vote and Cheatham said staff would brief Mr. Jones and prepare for his start date.
