At its Jan. 21 meeting the Waterford Township Board of Education approved a broad set of personnel and business items, including lateral moves, resignations, new appointments, a teacher retirement and the board's monthly financial certifications.
Personnel actions approved by roll call included lateral moves for certified staff (Patricia Chance; Candice Michelini), transfers and the appointment of certified and support staff pending documentation. The board accepted the resignation of paraprofessionals Gina Buonadonna and Christy Marzili and approved the retirement of elementary teacher Mary Low, effective July 1, 2026. A motion by Benjamin De Vuyst, seconded by Jason Galante carried the personnel slate.
On business matters the Board Secretary certified the November 2025 financial reports under N.J. statutes and rules; the board then approved bills and claims, including a Bills List #1 for $2,010,905.99, two additional bills lists, a $750 item, and Nutri-Serve charges of $40,291.32 as recorded in the minutes. The business slate was approved on a motion by Jason Galante, seconded by Rosemarie Hunter and carried by roll call vote. The minutes also show that the board approved a McKinney-Vento transportation contract for three students at $357.95 per diem (total noted for 67 days), several small grants, out-of-district professional development requests and recurring facilities use applications (e.g., Boy Scouts Cub meetings at Atco).
The superintendent's packet that accompanied these votes included enrollment and drill logs reviewed earlier in the meeting; the minutes show no public-comment concerns related to these business or personnel votes. Bylaws and multiple policy second readings relating to business operations were approved later in the agenda, and the meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
Next steps: the district will process hires and retirements per board approval and the business office will record payments and follow up on grant and transportation arrangements as noted in the minutes.
