The Waterford Township Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, at Waterford Elementary School. Matthew DeNafo was elected board president and Barbara Libak Fanz was elected vice president; both votes were unanimous.
The meeting, called to order at 5:06 p.m., opened with the board noting that the meeting notice had been filed in compliance with the Sunshine Law and posted on the district website (wtsd.org). The board announced municipal election results naming Jason Galante (3,098 votes), Thomas Leach (2,779 votes) and write-in Stephen Umosella (113 votes) and referenced the Camden County election results webpage for the full canvass.
Howard Long, the board solicitor, administered the Oath of Office to newly and re-elected members Jason Galante, Thomas Leach and Stephen Umosella. A roll call recorded nine members present: Matthew DeNafo, Benjamin De Vuyst, Barbara Libak Fanz, Jason Galante, Rosemarie Hunter, Thomas Leach, Michael McClintock, Ehren O'Donnell and Stephen Umosella.
Ehren O'Donnell moved to nominate Matthew DeNafo for board president; a subsequent motion to elect DeNafo was seconded by Jason Galante and approved by a unanimous roll call vote. Benjamin De Vuyst moved to nominate Barbara Libak Fanz for vice president; a motion to elect her was made by Rosemarie Hunter, seconded by Michael McClintock and likewise approved unanimously.
The board then approved, by a single roll call motion made by Benjamin De Vuyst and seconded by Jason Galante, organizational items A through I. Those approvals included: adoption of the district Code of Ethics; approval of current district policies and job descriptions; appointment of delegates and alternates to the Camden County School Boards Association (delegate: Ehren O'Donnell; alternate: Barbara Libak Fanz) and the New Jersey School Boards Association (delegate: Michael McClintock; alternate: Stephen Umosella); designation of Benjamin De Vuyst as the Camden County Educational Services Commission delegate with Jason Galante as alternate; appointment of Rosemarie Hunter as representative to the Hammonton Board of Education; authorization of TD Bank NJ Cash Management Fund and other banks as depositories (CDs to be awarded to the highest bidder); approval of bank accounts, signatories and related powers; and appointment of Christopher Eberly as the Public Agency Compliance Officer.
There were no public comments on agenda items or on general topics. The meeting president recorded no old or new business beyond the reorganization actions. At 5:18 p.m., Rosemarie Hunter moved to adjourn, the motion was seconded by Jason Galante and carried by unanimous voice consent.
The actions taken set the board's leadership and routine administrative authorities for 2026. Meeting documents and the Camden County canvass were cited for election verification; the district website listed meeting notices and minutes.
