St. Clair board approves ordinances on curfew, sewer connections, subdivision revision and names grant administrator

The St. Clair Board of Aldermen on Feb. 24 approved a package of measures that the city said will affect local code, development approvals and project administration.
Key votes at the meeting included:
- Resolution 20251: The council approved a resolution to designate the current grant administrator for a DNR revitalization grant so that the administrator can sign paperwork for an upcoming sewer grant intended to connect a trailer court to property near the airport. (Motion carried; SEG 018–037)
- Ordinance 20258 (becomes ordinance 223): The council approved an ordinance authorizing the city administrator to sign an agreement with "St Nicholas and Company" to assist with investment opportunities related to $5 million in bond proceeds. Staff will correct the ordinance body to reflect the city administrator as the signatory on the agreement before signatures are finalized. (Motion carried; SEG 141–181)
- Ordinance 20259 (becomes ordinance 2204): The council approved an ordinance changing the curfew age from 17 to 18 to align with a recent change in state statute (amendment to Chapter 16, Section 16-3 of the municipal code). (Motion carried; SEG 182–216)
- Ordinance 202-10 (becomes ordinance 2205): The council approved a code change requiring properties within 200 feet of a city sewer line to connect to city sewer services (amendment to Chapter 5, Municipal Wastewater, Division 1, Section 24-94). (Motion carried; SEG 216–251)
- Ordinance 20251 (phase 2 final plat; becomes ordinance 226): The council approved a revision to the final plat for Villas at Stone Ledge Phase 2A, removing one unit (unit 24) and directing recording with the county per planning and zoning recommendation. (Motion carried; SEG 252–302)
Most measures were approved by voice vote after motions; the transcript records "motion carries" for each. The meeting also included mayoral remarks thanking public works staff for snow-removal efforts and reporting repairs to a pump at well six rather than the previously estimated $40,000; no residents lost water during the incidents. The next regular meeting was announced for Monday, March 3 at 7 p.m.
