Armstrong County approves community and labor agreements, adopts personnel policy and names Tri‑County board member; presents scholarships

On June 18 the Armstrong County Board of Commissioners approved a series of agreements and administrative items related to labor, community services and personnel policy.
The board, on unanimous motions moved by Commissioner Anthony G. Shea and seconded by Commissioner Pat Fabian, approved an agreement between the county and Armstrong County Community Action Partnership on the recommendation of Cass Reedy. The board also approved an agreement with the United Steel Workers based on a recommendation from Human Resource Manager Audrey Campbell, and approved a cooperation agreement with Orphans of the Storm, Inc. The board acknowledged an agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development on the recommendation of Darin Alviano.
Human Resource Manager Audrey Campbell recommended and the board adopted updated Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, and Social Security Policy. The board appointed Mr. Toby Toy, Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer, LiUNA Local 952, to serve on the Tri‑County Workforce Development Board (labor category) for a term beginning June 18, 2026, and expiring September 30, 2029.
Administrator Tammy Calderone and Amanda Schroeder, Deputy Director of AIC Drug and Alcohol, presented three Future Providers Scholarship recipients: Leah Hogamier, Madison McGuire and La Keya Crone. The minutes indicate the proclamations and agreements were carried unanimously; no public comment or dissent on these items is recorded.
