Warren Hills board approves budget items, special-education contracts and snow‑removal bid

At its Oct. 14 meeting the Warren Hills Regional Board of Education approved the Finance motions for August and September including acceptance of the Board Secretary and Treasurer’s report and the bill list for Sept. 10–Oct. 14, 2025. The board recorded approval by roll-call of the full slate of Budget & Finance items.
Key approvals included special-education tuition contracts for placements at Somerset County Educational Services Commission programs: $77,200 for Somerset HS Academy, $73,690 for Somerset MS Academy and $65,470 for New Dawn Academy for the 2025–2026 school year. The board also accepted the revised monthly financial report and transfers for August totaling $40,171.16.
The board accepted a $4,000 credit from the School Alliance Insurance Fund (SAIF) as an assessment credit for completing the Tier I Safety Incentive Program. The board also accepted an in-kind grant from the Mount Olive Robotics Team valued at $6,950 to support the district’s middle-school STEM program, consisting of LEGO Bricks and field kits and yearlong SPIKE Prime kit rental.
Stone Hill Excavating LLC was authorized as the lowest responsible bidder for district snow-removal services for the 2025–2026 through 2027–2028 school years with per‑event and seasonal rates listed in the meeting materials and an hourly relocation rate of $225.00.
The motion bundle passed on a motion by Amy Kemp and seconded by Molly Fraumeni. Vote recorded: Aye from members present (Molly Fraumeni, Jean Hansen, Erik Heller, Amy Kemp, Alfred Coscia); absent: Thomas Dufner, Lisa Marshall, Paula Merrill, Corey Piasecki.
The board also approved transfers, student-activities bill lists and a tuition contract with Oxford Township for an ERIC program placement at a prorated amount of $22,500. The meeting materials list additional travel and conference approvals and other routine finance items.
