On Aug. 12 the Warren Hills Regional Board of Education approved a package of policy updates and the district’s 2025–26 Local Mentoring Plan.
Lisa Marshall moved (seconded by Amy Kemp) to amend Policy 9163 to add the notation “Requirement of NJSIAA” and to approve first reads of several policies and regulations (P & R #2430, R #5511, R #5600, P #7320 and amended P #9163) as well as second reads of other policies (including P #5111, P #5460, P #5512, P #5533, R #5533, P & R #7441, P #8500, and P & R #9320). The board also approved the 2025–2026 Local Mentoring Plan as recommended by the Education & Policy Committee.
The board affirmed administrative decisions regarding Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying (HIB) cases: none were listed for the middle school or high school for the 2025–26 year. A second, short executive session followed later in the agenda to consider confidential matters; the policy votes were recorded in the minutes as approved on roll call.
The policy updates include routine regulatory alignments (dress and grooming, student code of conduct, co-curricular activities) and items required by athletic oversight (the amended spectator code of conduct referencing the NJSIAA). Approving the Local Mentoring Plan helps establish mentoring supports for new faculty and instructional staff for the coming school year.
The board’s action places the revised policies into the district’s policy manual pending administrative implementation steps and communication to staff and families where relevant.
