The council read multiple resolutions by title for 2025 — covering meeting nights, temporary appropriations, bylaws, investment authority, signatory authority, depository selection, interest rates, official newspaper designation, parks and playgrounds oversight, cash-management plans, office hours, police services and various appointments of professional services and municipal staff. By motion and vote the council approved the groups of resolutions; the clerk recorded one abstention on resolution 53.
On unfinished business carried from 2024, the council approved Resolution 168 of 2024 to authorize a fair and open RFP process for selecting solicitor services and cybersecurity services for 2025; the body moved to issue requests for proposals and expected contracts to be in place by the February meeting.
The mayor presented a slate of committee appointments for 2025 (personnel committee, planning and zoning representatives, deputy roles and others) and the council approved the appointments. The council also approved bills for payment by motion and vote.
Council set a schedule for regular work sessions and meetings: the first work session will be held in person on Jan. 15 and the next regular council meeting is scheduled for Jan. 22. The meeting closed after acknowledgements and a motion to adjourn.
