Union Township board approves contracts, tuition rates and service agreements for 2025–26

At its April 28 meeting the Union Township Board of Education approved a block of Finance and Facility consent items that included vendor contracts, professional services and proposed tuition rates for the 2025–26 school year.
Finance Committee chair John Malone presented the items. The board approved contracts for accounting and personnel system licenses with CDK Systems, Inc. at a total contract amount of $12,570 for 2025–26; a student information and food-service management contract with Realtime for $12,768.76; Raptor Technologies visitor-management services ($115.84 for June 1–30, 2025 and an annual $1,390 contract for 7/1/25–6/30/26); Phoenix Advisors continuing-disclosure services (base fee $1,350); and technology and transportation support agreements with the Hunterdon County Educational Services Commission. The board also approved a professional-services proposal with H2M Architects & Engineers for well-water system design ($22,500) and NJDEP permitting support ($5,000), to be funded from capital reserves.
Other approved items included a food-service management contract renewal with Maschio's Food Service, Inc. (management/administrative flat fee $12,000) and a no-cost memorandum of understanding with the YMCA to provide before-and-after-school care (space and operational cooperation subject to district facilities and custodial support). The board approved coordinated transportation participation with Warren County Special Services and Hunterdon County ESC with administrative fees as stated in the agenda.
The board also set proposed tuition rates for out-of-district or tuition-paying students for 2025–26 as part of the finance consent agenda: Kindergarten $16,532; grades 1–5 $17,212; grades 6–8 $18,787. Special-education tuition rates were listed (learning language disabled $65,402; preschool disabled full time $40,275; autism $36,372) with a district note that rates may be modified based on the services required by an individual student's IEP.
Why it matters: these contracts and rates set the district's vendor relationships and the per-student billing assumptions for families and placing districts for the coming school year. The items were approved on the consent calendar by unanimous roll call (9–0).
