Britt City Council approves RFP to solicit proposals for Britt Golf Course, authorizes $8,536.15 payroll payment

Mayor Jim Nelson called the Britt City Council to order at 6 p.m. on Sept. 9 in Britt Council Chambers, and the council quickly moved to formal business, approving a resolution to solicit proposals for the disposition of the Britt Golf Course.
Council member Curt Gast offered the resolution and Ashley Weiss seconded it; the measure included setting the council meeting on Nov. 5, 2024, to begin at 7 p.m. A roll call vote recorded ayes from Gast, Weiss, Todd Hildman, Angela Nelson and Jefry Moore, and the resolution passed unanimously.
The council also approved a separate motion to issue a check to the Britt Golf Course for $8,536.15 to cover payroll, payroll taxes and sales tax. That motion was made by Gast and seconded by Council member Angela Nelson and carried unanimously.
The actions mean the city will solicit proposals under the approved request for proposals and that the immediate payroll obligations of the golf course will be met through the authorized payment.
