Union Township board approves 2025–26 school safety plan, NJQSAC self-assessment

Steven Fiedeldey presented the School Safety Plan and summarized recent drills the district completed for the 2025'26 school year: elementary school fire drill (Sept. 30, 2025), elementary and middle school bus evacuation drills (Oct. 16, 2025), middle school fire drill (Sept. 29, 2025) and a middle school security drill (Oct. 24, 2025). The approvals included the district's HIB (harassment, intimidation and bullying) Self Assessment for both elementary and middle schools.
Board member Amelia Lamonde, acting as Education Committee chair for the report, moved the consent resolutions; Caitlin Piontek seconded. The minutes record a unanimous roll-call approval for the education items.
Why it matters: NJQSAC self-assessments and updated safety plans are routine state accountability and preparedness steps; approval clears the district to submit required documentation to the county superintendent and confirms district drills and HIB reporting practices for the year.
