Union Township Board to honor 48 student ambassadors; superintendent touts top county test results

The Union Township Board of Education heard a report from Superintendent Dr. Barbara Popp on May 20 highlighting student accomplishments and district assessment rankings.
Dr. Popp said the board will recognize 48 student ambassadors and their directors at the June board meeting, and praised the students and staff who produced the recent school play, Beauty and the Beast.
Regarding assessment results, Dr. Popp reported that "Union Township scored 1st among 25 Hunterdon County School Districts in Math. Union Township scored 2nd among 25 Hunterdon County School Districts in Language Arts [and] 7th among 25 Hunterdon County School Districts in Science." She credited teachers and administrators for the performance.
The board also noted recent fire drills (ES and MS fire drills on April 23, 2025) as part of routine safety reporting. The board plans formal recognition of student ambassadors and production participants at the June meeting.
