The North Royalton Streets Committee recommended council approval of three contracts for roadway work: pavement marking (Ordinance 26-48), concrete repairs (26-49) and asphalt/equipment services (26-50).
Streets Superintendent Kevin Nekl recommended JD Striping for pavement marking and said the company previously corrected issues left by an inferior vendor. He recommended Konstruction King for concrete repairs after consulting neighboring cities, and praised Crossroads for several years of quality asphalt overlay work. Each recommendation passed the committee by voice vote (Yeas: Paul Marnecheck, Sarah Wojslaw, Kaylee Green).
Committee members discussed how asphalt overlays over concrete have sometimes satisfied residents who initially resist overlays. No council amendments were made in committee; the items will be forwarded to full council for final approval.
