The North Royalton Storm Water Committee voted 3-0 on March 3 to forward Ordinance 26-42 — a memorandum of understanding to support Minimum Control Measures 1 and 2 under the city’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program — to the full City Council.
City Engineer Matt Glass said the agreement covers public education and public participation activities and cites the Soil & Water Conservation District as a partner that provides printed materials, social media content and event coordination. "The Soil & Water Conservation District helps with printed materials, social media materials along with hosting events and they even reach out to try and coordinate an event in town as far as participation," Glass said.
Glass told the committee the Board of Health also assists the city with outreach and that the cost of the services is reimbursed by the Sewer District. Chair Sarah Wojslaw moved to send the ordinance to council; Vice Chair Paul Marnecheck seconded. The committee voted unanimously, 3-0, to advance the measure.
The ordinance will now appear on the City Council agenda for further consideration. The meeting record does not specify the amount of any reimbursement or a scheduled council hearing date.
Speakers who spoke on the item included City Engineer Matt Glass, Chair Sarah Wojslaw and Vice Chair Paul Marnecheck. No public comment on this ordinance was recorded in the meeting minutes.
