Moresy described a range of measures—energy audits of municipal buildings, unified solar permitting, LED street‑light projects, and municipal compost programs—and said the state’s zero‑emission vehicle grant program could provide up to $500,000 for a downtown Level 3 DC fast charger or multiple Level 2 chargers paired with utility make‑ready funds.
Former councilor TJ Kennedy and others asked for dedicated city staff support, reinstatement of the environmental conservation commission and stronger coordination with regional planning (CDRPC) to convert planning proposals into funded projects. The sustainability advocates requested the council facilitate staff time for grant applications and to formally embrace the task force’s bronze certification plan.
Next steps suggested: appoint or designate a city CSC coordinator, direct planning staff to collaborate with the task force on grant applications, and revisit municipal solar‑farm restoration as a priority.
