Superintendent reports enrollment of 92, NJSLA dates and safety updates to Califon board

Superintendent Dr. Michele Cone presented the Chief School Administrator’s report on Sept. 18, reporting district enrollment at 92 students and stating that both HIB incidents and suspension reports were zero.
Dr. Cone announced the NJSLA spring testing window for Grades 3–8 ELA and Math and Grades 5 and 8 Science will run May 5–23, 2025, and highlighted the Week of Respect scheduled for Oct. 7–11, 2024. She said the Pennant project is underway and that the district attained gold level recognition for the Go Hunterdon program. Dr. Cone also noted planned October fire-safety activities and recognized staff for service anniversaries and attainment of tenure.
The superintendent’s report provides operational context the board will use for staffing, scheduling and safety planning as the district prepares for assessments and seasonal activities. No public comment was offered on the report.
