Rowley MLP awards substation transformer bid to Virginia Transformer Corporation; delivery targeted for late 2025

At the Sept. 11 meeting, Manager Matthew Brown told commissioners the substation transformer bid was awarded to Virginia Transformer Corporation (VTC) of Virginia.
Brown said delivery of the new transformer is expected by the Fall of 2025 and the unit remains on schedule to be energized by December 2025. He said the next procurement step is to advertise a request for qualifications for the relay and control panel to keep the schedule on track. Brown said he is working with PLM Engineering and will report back with the RFQ responses in October.
The board recorded the update as part of routine manager reporting; no vote on the transformer award was recorded in the minutes. Commissioners did not express objections in the meeting record.
