Rowley MLP reports 33 solar arrays, third round of shutoffs; transformer purchase ordered for 2025

Manager Matthew Brown gave the board a routine operations update covering solar installations, collections, construction and a major equipment purchase.
Brown said the MLP now has 33 solar systems and that two new arrays were recently added. He reported the office completed its third round of collections; the list of delinquent accounts has been shrinking and the next scheduled shutoff day is Aug. 7. Line staff continue pole-and-wire work on the Ocean Avenue project, which Brown said is progressing well.
On infrastructure procurement, Brown reported the substation power transformer bid was awarded to VTC of Virginia. The plant has signed the purchase order and agreement; Brown said delivery is scheduled for fall 2025 with energization expected by December 2025.
Votes at a glance: the board accepted the May 14, 2024 minutes with corrections after a motion by Commissioner Mark Cousins and a second by Commissioner Bryan DiPersia; roll-call votes recorded all three commissioners voting "I." The board likewise voted unanimously to adjourn at 6:34 PM after a motion by Cousins and second by DiPersia.
Why it matters: the transformer purchase and continued collections activity have direct operational and budget implications for the utility and its customers; the solar program expansion reflects ongoing distributed-generation uptake.
