Denton board holds public hearing, gives first reading to zoning‑code revision

The Denton Board of Trustees opened a public hearing at 6:35 p.m. on May 21 to consider revisions to the village zoning regulations and official zoning map prepared by Miller & Associates. Trustee Amanda Fangmeier moved to open the hearing; Trustee Ryan Osborn seconded, and the motion carried.

After the hearing, the board voted to introduce Ordinance No. 26‑5‑1, titled AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF DENTON, NEBRASKA, TO ADOPT THE ZONING REGULATIONS AND OFFICIAL ZONING MAP FOR THE VILLAGE OF DENTON, NEBRASKA AND FOR THAT AREA WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF ITS CORPORATE LIMITS AS PREPARED BY MILLER & ASSOCIATES CONSULTING ENGINEERS, P.C. The motion to hold the ordinance's first reading was moved by Trustee Fangmeier and seconded by Chair Joe Hobelman; the motion carried. The board scheduled the ordinance's second reading for the June 1, 2026 meeting.
