Ridgetop board approves bid advertisements for paving and culvert work, purchases welder and sets workshop

At its July 15 meeting, the Ridgetop Board of Aldermen approved several administrative actions, including advertising bids for street work, approving procurement steps for equipment and purchasing a welder for the gas department.
Alderman Martin moved and the board unanimously approved advertising bids for paving and excavation on Red Oak Court. Martin also moved to advertise bids for a culvert replacement on Liebengood Road; Vice Mayor Gilmore seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board added a welder purchase to the agenda and then approved a motion by Alderman Senft to buy a 2012 Lincoln Classic 300D welder for the gas department for $6,350; Alderman Gregory seconded and the vote was unanimous. Mayor Shaw noted that staff member Brian had located and secured the welder to meet the department’s equipment needs.
The board also voted to schedule a workshop on Aug. 19, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The motions on advertisement for bids and the welder purchase passed with unanimous votes; no roll-call objections or abstentions were recorded.
Mayor Shaw provided an update on the Shedden Road bridge project, saying Benchmark Construction is nearing completion of a water line installation for White House Utility District and that L & G Construction expects to complete remaining work within two to three weeks after beginning that contract phase. No new formal action was taken on the bridge at the meeting.
