Owens Cross Roads council adopts expanded pay scale, approves tax-audit contract and elects municipal delegates; one resolution dies

Owens Cross Roads — The City Council on Tuesday approved a series of resolutions including a restructuring of the municipal pay scale and a professional services agreement for tax auditing, while one proposed resolution failed for lack of a motion.
Mayor Tony Craig and all five council members recorded unanimous approvals for multiple items on the consent and resolutions agenda. Councilman Scott Baker moved to approve minutes from the March 10 regular session, the March 17 work session and the bank balances as of March 23, 2026; the motion passed unanimously.
City Attorney Matt Balch gave a brief legal update earlier in the meeting, saying the city’s pathway litigation is “moving forward” and that the city is preparing for depositions.
