The Reinbeck City Council opened a public hearing on adding Chapter 124 for mobile food-service vendors and gave the ordinance its first consideration on March 2, 2026.
Mayor Jamie Eiffler opened the hearing at 6:03 p.m. and council members discussed how to set vendor fees; the minutes note the fee will be established by resolution after the ordinance is adopted. Council Member Trepp moved to give Ordinance #2026-03OR first consideration and to adopt it; Council Member Wambold seconded the motion, which carried on a 5–0 voice vote.
Council also set a second reading of the ordinance for April 6, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Council Member Johnson moved to schedule the second reading and Council Member Trepp seconded; the motion carried 5–0.
If adopted after the second reading, the ordinance will add the city’s regulatory framework for mobile vendors and leave fee-setting to a subsequent resolution. The council did not adopt the final fee at the March meeting; minutes record that fee details will be addressed later.
