Architect outlines potential renovation for Wallkill Valley; board hears plan to use capital reserve

When resident Brain Tobachnick asked whether the cafeteria tables were damaged, Thompson said, "they are not friable." David Dreifus, a Hamburg resident, asked whether other districts are pursuing similar projects; Thompson said practices vary by district.
Board member Thomas Kabatra asked how the district would pay for the work. School Business Administrator and Board Secretary Joseph P. Hurley Jr. told trustees the district would fund the renovation from the Capital Reserve Account.
The presentation prompted technical and administrative questions but no formal motion or vote on a project at the Jan. 27 meeting. Board members and residents discussed next steps; the matter remains at the conceptual stage pending further study and any required board action.
